Dear Society Members:
We are pleased to share two announcements concerning the 2014 24th Annual Society for Text and Discourse Conference that will be held in our fair city, Chicago, Illinois.
We are excited to share the news that the Special Issue for the 23rd Annual conference was a grand success! The editors report that this issue should be in print before this year’s conference (fingers crossed). And, we will do it again next year! Discourse Processes will publish a special issue featuring work presented at the conference. The deadline for submitted manuscripts (based on papers or posters presented at the conference) is September 1. While this is shortly after the conference, we hope that this advance notice will provide you will sufficient time to prepare (and conquer). More details will be provided soon.
We are also happy to announce that the submission deadline for the conference is extended by one week, to February 18. We hope that this extension gives you time to think ahead about research you might consider submitting to our special issue and allows you sufficient time to submit your best work(s) to the conference.
On behalf of the conference organizing committee (Anne Britt, Sid Horton, and Keith Millis), we look forward to seeing everyone in Chicago!
