Max Louwerse will chair the conference, along with co-organizers Danielle McNamara and Art Graesser. The ST&D conference will be held shortly after another conference in Memphis, the annual meeting of the International Association for the Empirical Studies of Literature and Media (IGEL). The IGEL Summer Institute is scheduled for July 5-8, and the Conference is scheduled for July 8-11. Both conferences (and their workshops) will be held at the FedEx Institute of Technology on the University of Memphis campus.

We are currently seeking proposals for tutorials or workshops at ST&D 2008. Workshops and tutorials will be held July 11-12.  Please submit your ideas for full day or half-day workshops or tutorials to be held prior to the conference to Anne Britt, at britt@niu.edu.
